HOT OFF THE PRESSES:

Chicago, Ill. – July 2016 –

Graduate Hotels is thrilled to introduce the Camp Wandawega suite at Graduate Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. The custom-designed room is a collaboration between Graduate Hotels and Camp Wandawega, and features products from Camp Wandawega’s exclusive collection with Land of Nod: Camp Wandawega for Nod. In developing the suite, the Graduate team worked closely with both partners to create a space that is inspired by the vintage charm of Camp Wandawega, and whimsy of Land of Nod, while still complementing the hotel’s design aesthetic.

“As avid fans of both Camp Wandawega and Land of Nod, we are thrilled to partner on this exciting project,” said Ben Weprin, CEO of AJ Capital Partners. “The unique partnership has resulted in the creation of a space that encapsulates the spirit of the Graduate brand and celebrates the quaint essence of Madison, Wisconsin.”

Upon entering the suite, guests are greeted by a large main room featuring an entertainment area, a sleeping area with a king bed and a workstation. Clad walls in amber-shellacked pine mimic those found at Camp Wandawega and are complemented by vintage barkcloth, hunting print draperies. The workstation is inspired by historic summer camp scoutmaster rooms, and features a vintage, working typewriter, traditional office chair and antique Adirondack desk. Original camp artifacts such as an antique troopmaster hat, custom Sanborn canoe paddles, and Fairibault Woolen Mills blankets, as well as Camp Wandawega for Nod accents and décor are found throughout the space.

In the adjoining semi-private media room, custom bunk beds outfitted in Camp Wandawega for Nod bedding, add to the authentic “camp” feel, while an entertainment library stocked with summer camp-themed movies, and a record playing station with retro-American music, provide endless hours of fun and a playful atmosphere.

Graduate Madison opened in May 2015 alongside Lake Mendota on historic Langdon Street, adjacent to the popular State Street dining and entertainment area and two blocks from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s campus.
