Sterlingworth Cabin Sterlingworth Cabin

The original Sterlingworth Hotel was a grand structure with a nearby collection of small cabins, overlooking Mill Lake, on Lauderdale Lakes. While the main hotel was demolished, rebuilt, then ravaged by fire, this single cabin miraculously survived the years.

Fast forward to 2012. Tereasa sees this cabin countless times while driving down the highway. One day, she finally pulls over. A handshake deal and five hundred bucks later, we’re back with the trusty flatbed trailer to bring it to Camp Wandawega. Once perched on its new home, we rip out the musty carpet, the drop ceiling, and gut it to the joists. A proper cleaning and a new roof to keep the water out — it’s the perfect artist’s retreat. When not being used for a private all-camp event, it’s available to rent via Airbnb as part of The Rustic Camping Cluster which sleeps up to 10 and includes canvas platform tents, the A-Frame, and the tipi.
