Now that we have moved our offices from the charming Western Chicago suburb of Elmhurst to the heart of downtown Chicago, we’re finding that more and more friends are finding time to stop by for coffee, lunch, a quick tour of our new digs or just to say “hello”.
With such an array of incredible design minds and personalities, we thought it would be great to share snip-its of those conversations with you.  We’re calling these collective interviews, The 8th FLOR Series.  We find these casual exchanges enlightening and inspiring, and hope you do too.
We’re pleased to launch this series with our friend and collaborator, Tereasa Surratt.
This author, blogger, designer, camp counselor (you’ll understand more in a second) has her hands in just about everything from advertising and commercial design to styling to home/property renovation to writing and blogging to … well,  you get the idea.
Tereasa’s first  book, A Very Modest Cottage, tells the tale of how she found and renovated an abandoned and dilapidated cabin into a charmingly beautiful guest cottage at Wandewega, (a quintessential resort/summer camp property in Wisconsin owned by Tereasa and her husband, David Hernandez).  In her latest book, Found, Free & Flea, Tereasa provides incredible hints and tips on how to redecorate on the tiniest of budgets by re-purposing old into new.

Learn what makes this self-labeled “obsessive compulsive collector” tick, see what inspires her and hear what’s next on her ever-growing “to do” list.
Tereasa’s unique design sense and knack for collecting, renovating and styling are truly inspiring to anyone looking to infuse a little bit of vintage yesterday into today’s modern aesthetic.
