from the author (emily berman) of the blog 52 MEALS:
“I’m going to challenge myself to have one dinner party a week for a year. Starting January 01, 2012, I will cook at least one meal a week for someone other than myself, Craig, and Henry. The “dinner party” can be any kind of meal from breakfast to cocktails, it can be at my house or off-site, from one dinner guest to twelve, as long as I’m cooking. And there must be at least one a week (hopefully there will be more), and I have to keep it up all year. This blog will chronicle this experiment with stories, recipes, photos, and likely some collaborative illustrations with my husband. And hopefully I’ll see you at my dinner table soon”
AND A CLIP FROM HER POST ON MEAL #41- A TRIP TO WANDA:
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Camp Wandawega for the first time – an old summer camp/vacation home owned and operated by Tereasa Surratt and David Hernandez. Everything about the place is perfect, from the vintage collections of glassware and dishes (theFiestaware collection alone! Be still my heart!), to the bear skins, vintage swimsuits and pennants on the walls to the taxidermied menagerie in the lodge. There are gorgeous little cabins that you want to hibernate in, a tree house (!!!), rope swings, teepees, rope swings, canoes, and plenty of outdoor relaxation to be had. I went for a girls weekend with Hillary and Lindsay, for what turned out to be a particularly quiet weekend at the camp.
