The dresscode for this year’s halloween party was very specific: “Edwardian Harlot & Dapper Gentleman”. It was required for the setting — which was to be the infamous ‘Everleigh Club’ of Chicago, during its victorian hay day.
So in honor of Camp original madame (Anna Peck, imprisoned in 1942 after running camp as a brothel for over 20 years), I decided to (try) to be her… instead of a full-on victorian prostitute- (not sure i want to even attempt to pull that off)
COSTUME INGREDIENTS: 1910 victorian dress (beading in tatters, lace collapsing, but epic for $70 on etsy. period Gibson girl do. cheated on the shoes: 1942 school marms. period costume butterfly hairpins 1985 ‘mizer purse’. (on hemline, the one below is an xtra) David was easier: tophat & tails. cane & monocle. Gloves & wingtips. (the monocle was a $4 score from flea market on Portobello Road a dozen years ago)
For Charliegirl- she asked to be a cowgirl.
