She’s here! The new Camp truck: International Harvester Metro Van

We had a fantastic old school local dude hand letter the outside after many, many rounds of comping up ideas first, of course. Ron Wing of Precision Signs in Chicago is one of only a handful of folks we can trust to do it right.

When we got her, the inside had already been converted –  salvaged wood walls from an old pier, courtesy of Fritz and the gang at Out Cold.

We had to do some deep digging to find the old school driver’s seat. Totally utiliatarian. #nocomforthere

These IH Metro vans where pretty standard fare in the ’40s- ’60s as milk trucks, bread trucks, and delivery vans. And the original design was from one of the great industrial designers of all time, Raymond Loewy.
