and — I literally almost started crying when walking into the big scary lobby of @RandomHouse NY tower lobby recently because it hit me how unlikely it is that that our little story about my dad, our daughter and her treehouse is now somehow being published by the same folks who brought us Dr Suess & The Golden Books. (We cleaned out Dad’s old house this thanksgiving and took home a few things that remind me of him: the books he used to read us).We got some much-needed happy news yesterday: Our editor called super excited that Publishers Weekly gave it a nice review (learned that PW is “the bible of the book business since 1872 for booksellers/ librarians/agents/authors). Holding our breath, we read that they called it “A sweet and inspiring ode to the draw of nature and the power of communityIts taken @donnalukecp @nicolaslater Phoebe Ye & a small team of dedicated women at @RandomHouse nearly three years to get it to this point, so today we are counting our forever blessings. (Bonus that it made Charliegirl happy to see that she can get it @Target, which is the only place she wants to shop) “A fresh twist on Shel Silversteins The Giving Tree based on a real tree in Wisconsin that became something more . .”
