I was raised 8 miles outside of a farm town of 4,000 people. We didn’t have diversity of any kind. I graduated early and went to college at 20 at SIU. Camp & the day job…some big news! #grateful

On this special – and emotional – day, we feel compelled to express gratefulness & thankfulness. Pay it forward, friends. ON THIS DAY… I made the decision to no longer separate church from state. I used to fear that “you’ll lose half of your followers that have contrary political views,” the haters will come after you” and “you can’t pick sides when you own a business.” And for years, I’ve believed them, and feared it. We’re not in a position to take a political stance with such a small business. We can’t alienate anyone, and we depend on everyone. Truth is…it’s worth it…

She makes running a ranch & mothering 4 daughters look easy (& is a gorgeous make-free lady to boot).     ABOUT THE HIDES: from their own Navajo Churro heritage sheep  “Our custom made sheepskin pelts are of the finest craftsmanship and involve quite a process to become a pelt. Better Homes & Gardens Wandawega Winter Wonderland feature is out!

When I was a kid in the early 70’s my Grandma always had Better Homes & Gardens. It has been an American institution since the 1920’s…. a virtual bible of all things home decor, entertaining. (so, we where super humbled when they called and asked if they could come shoot a feature story). The new issue November  is out– and to celebrate, we’re going to open up camp rentals this winter for a little trial run. When Wisconsin has its first blanket of snow, we’ll open up AirBnB calendar to y’all. We’ve always wanted to do it, and have finally…

THE BUNNIES ARE COMING…

Charlie has been asking for a bunny since practically birth. So now that she’s a big ‘grown up’ 6, she told us she is ready. and basically gave us an ultimatum: bunny or horse.  (she is admittedly the boss around here)  So we decided to design her a bunny habitat that wouldn’t look like – well, a sad metal cage that we would feel sad to leave the little fur ball in. bunnies need light! a play yard! safety from flesh-eating foxes and coyotes & stray dogs. so we sketched a bunch of little cottages that looked like camp-y, mini treehouses,…
